It may not come as a surprise that in the security industry, analog will soon become obsolete as IP cameras are becoming more affordable and more efficient. IP cameras have  a much better resolution, are better for the environment and provide many other benefits as we previously blogged about.

1.3 Megapixel IP Camera Detail

As IP technology improves, analog will be pushed further out. Our clients endorse IP camera solutions, and provided us with this example from their camera. This example is from our 1.3 IP Megapixel Camera. Half of the license plate has been blurred for their privacy, but as you can see, IP cameras provide clear details, imperative for surveillance. Please note this image comes from a 1.3 Megapixel camera, and 10 Megapixel surveillance cameras are on their way!

At least we have found a solution for our old analog parts:

Our creative senior technician, Kyle, has created these “monsters” made from BNC connectors and balun parts, which are only used for analog systems.

It’s inevitable that analog will go obsolete, and that’s why you may see lots of DIY surveillance kits for little money. Instead of buying back, VinTech will recycle the existing equipment for our clients for free if they purchase our services/products. Just remember, technology moves fast, and you don’t want to get left behind!
