Mun, VinTech’s president, was a child when her home was burglarized while their family was asleep. The next morning, the family found one of their kitchen’s butcher knives placed in the living room. She began to feel unsafe at home and experienced recurring nightmares about the incident. She recalls “I had no peace of mind until we moved to a new home.”

Incidents like this can have a long-term effect on how we view protection. In Mun’s case, not only did it disturb her peace at an early age but later influenced her decision to take a role in the security industry.

Why is it important to feel secure?

Feeling secure is at the base of every success in a person’s life. It means having a sense of control of yourself and the environment. Many factors can influence our sense of security. These include both internal (mindfulness, confidence, and inner peace) and external (a support system that includes physical and emotional security measures).

Ideally, both internal and external factors not only have to co-exists but thrive in order to feel secure.

Being Completely Present.

When was the last time you stopped, took a deep breath, and focused on listening and looking at everything around you? If you have never done this, it might take some practice. The goal is not to simply look but to become aware of your surroundings and stay there as long as possible.

Which factors disrupt the process of staying present?

We often think about the safety of those we love but don’t ask ourselves if we feel safe. From time to time, we might think about possible scenarios that could bring us harm but we know that these situations usually require a reaction from us. However, do we ever give ourselves time to think about what it would take for us to feel completely safe? When we become aware of the importance of meditating about this, it changes our perspective of what being protected should feel like.

Romeo, Technician at VinTech Systems, believes that protection should enable you to “ease your mind from unexpected dangers. As in being safe in a way that you don’t even need to think about being in any possible danger.”

And if there is one place where you shouldn’t have to think about being in any possible danger, it should be your home.

This is why the job of a reliable security system is to protect what’s most important to you. For example, Antonieta, VinTech’s administrative assistant, believes that good sleep is needed to have a peaceful life. She uses aromatherapy to calm her mind before going to sleep in search of: “TRANQUILITY.” Then she starts to “imagine being able to sleep without being concerned.”

Just like Antonieta, many of our clients feel that a night routine in preparation for sleep helps them calm their mind. Additionally, if you take similar steps every night, you’ll be more likely to not forget to lock your doors or arm your security system.

Secure your Financial Stability

One additional component that can help you feel secure is to protect your property against theft and damage.

Mun, VinTech’s owner and founder, knows that security is not something you want to delegate to just anyone. People will often do strange things in public when they think no one is watching. For business owners, such actions might have negative effects on their assets. A person might end up stealing or defacing property when they believe they are alone. 

It’s important to catch such acts on camera, as the footage can act as a form of legal protection. 

Noticeable CCTV camera systems can be beneficial, too. Data has shown that the appearance of a security camera can deter crime. If somebody knows they are on camera, they are less likely to commit a crime.

Why Security Cameras are Important for Businesses

Having security cameras in your business will provide recorded footage to protect you against theft, lawsuits and problematic employees. 

This captured footage can be used in court if you decide to bring charges against a thief or if somebody decides to sue the business. A recording could stand in favor of your claims, giving you the necessary coverage in a potential lawsuit. 

Furthermore, the mere installation of cameras could be enough to deter crime before it happens. The sight of a camera might be just the thing a potential thief needs to stop them in their tracks. It’s much better to deter a thief than to have to use camera footage to catch one.

Security camera systems can do more than protect your business from wayward customers. Sometimes, employees can pose as big a risk as anybody to a business. Employee theft is an ongoing issue. Great areas to place a camera are by the register, in the break room and around the back room (if you have a storage area for products). These are prime places where an employee might take cash from your business or swipe a product into a personal bag prior to ending their shift. 

Moreover, security cameras can protect against bad customer service and poor employee work ethic. Business owners shouldn’t always side with their customers when they complain. It’s important for businesses to support their employees in order to keep morale high. But, a security camera can catch an interaction where an employee might have been distinctly in the wrong. 

As a business owner, one of your top priorities, beyond providing stellar products and services, is to protect your assets at all costs. A simple way to do so is with the installation of security cameras, which will help you keep a watchful eye over your livelihood. Don’t hesitate any longer if you don’t already have a spy camera installed in your business. It might protect you when you need it most.

Last Year

We received the second award from Expertise.com, a company who connects people with experts in their community. Initially, they conducted an analysis of 588 home security companies. In the Chicagoland area, they selected VinTech Systems as one of the top 14 security system providers.  Their selection criteria consisted of five elements: reputation, credibility, experience, availability, and professionalism. We are glad to make it to the top 14!.

In 2015

We have exciting news about VinTech’s owner too. The Chicago Business Journal selected our president Mung Wong to be a woman of influence. This program recognizes women leaders in the Chicago area who are innovative and successful in their respective industries. Notably, Ms. Wong has demonstrated not only the determination to succeed in a predominately male dominated business but she loves it too. Congrats Mun!

How many times a day do you hear about crime in Chicago? “Well, in my profession I hear it daily.”

“From violent crimes, to property vandalism, burglary, and theft, we hear them all. Providing security for a peaceful life is more challenging than it actually sounds. Having to create or customize a solution for the type of property you own is not always an easy task. It takes experience, knowledge and most of all, dedication. When I address our clients needs, I make sure I listen to all their concerns and thoughts. Understanding exactly what they want is key to giving them the service they really need.”

Protect from vandalism

A client with a multi-million dollar home.

“I received a call from a client that asked me what kind of security we offered for vacant homes. He was currently working on a home that he was finalizing for an auction. This particular home happens to be one of the largest homes in Illinois (I did not know that at the time).”

The Challenge

“His concern was the vandalism that was occurring in the home, constant break-ins and many trespassers after hours, damaging the property. I explained to him customized service we offer for vacant homes with no electricity, that would be perfect for what he needed. Our system would notify him immediately once the cameras detect a trespasser, not requiring any kind of power.”

The Solution

We installed 10 motion viewers that surround the entire home’s proximity. These make it it difficult for intruders to trespass and not be seen by the cameras. On the first night the system was installed the client received 15 notifications of intrusion on his property. Our system was enabled with sirens and motion was captured as far as 30 ft from the viewer. The alarm siren would go off and scare off the trespassers.

“I still remember talking to him about this set up. He joked about how he kept playing back all the clips of the intruders running off his property, causing him amusement.”Providing our clients a secure solution that did exactly what they wanted gives me peace of mind. We don’t always get the sale, but being able to provide a well given solution for your security needs is a rewarding feeling.
